Rhinelander Chamber Announces Businesses of the Year
The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2012 Businesses and Volunteer of the Year. The awards were presented at last night’s Annual Dinner Meeting of the Chamber held at Holiday Acres Resort. This is the second year of the program and the Chamber honors businesses in each of the three Chamber categories of Membership as well as a Community Volunteer of the Year.
Rhinelander GM & Toyota was awarded the 2012 Retail Business of the Year award. This company has supported numerous nonprofit organizations in the community through monetary donations and by employees volunteering their time. Organizations supported by Rhinelander GM & Toyota include the Rhinelander Ice Arena, Rhinelander Chamber, Downtown Rhinelander, The Fix Is In among others.
The Tourism and Convention Business of the Year went to Holiday Acres Resort. This long standing Rhinelander business has given generously of their time and talent over the years. The annual Holiday Expressions event has become the largest fundraiser of the year for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry. In addition Holiday Acres lends their support to groups like the Chamber, RASTA and the Rhinelander Rotary Club.
The Business Professional and Industrial Business of 2012 went to Superior Diesel. This company also generously supports many organizations in our community through large donations of both money and time. Their support has been given to the Rhinelander School District, YMCA of the Northwoods, Rhinelander Partners in Education and many more.
The Community Volunteer of the Year award was given to Linda Krebsbach. Linda donated countless hours to dozens of nonprofit groups in the Rhinelander Area. She is a third time President of the Rhinelander Ambassadors Club, a volunteer for the Food Pantry and the event Chair for the new Ho-Drags on Ice Event coming to Rhinelander in February.
