Nicolet College selects 2018-19 Student Ambassadors
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Nicolet College has presented its highest student honor to John Graetz and Brooke Berdan, naming each as a Student Ambassador for the 2018-19 academic year.
Selecting from an “incredibly talented and motivated group of nominees, John and Brooke rose to the top,” said Sara Tienhaara, student engagement and career development coach at Nicolet. “Both are very deserving and I’m sure will do a great job representing Nicolet.”
Students are nominated by a Nicolet staff member and then selected for the position after going through an interview process.
Graetz, an Information Technology student from Minocqua, will serve as the Nicolet District Student Ambassador and represent the college at Wisconsin Technical College System statewide events.
“I truly believe in service to others and have for a long time,” said Greatz, who has a work-study job at Nicolet. “This is another opportunity to do exactly that and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
Berdan, a pre-nursing student, will serve as the Nicolet College Foundation Ambassador.
“Nicolet is such a great college and I want to do everything I can to support the college and the foundation and to let everyone know about the many wonderful opportunities Nicolet offers individuals,” said Berdan, valedictorian of the 2017 Crandon High School graduating class.
In her duties as foundation ambassador, Berdan, a scholarship recipient herself, will inform students about scholarship opportunities available through the foundation. She’ll also meet with foundation donors, sharing a student’s perspective on what it’s like attending Nicolet College.
