Celebrate the birthday of of the U.S. Constitution
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
To commemorate the 230th anniversary of the birth of the U.S. Constitution, the Rhinelander District Library is giving away pocket-size versions of the document the week of Sept. 18-23.
It was Sept. 17, 1787 when the delegates to the Constitutional Convention, 39 men, met for the last time to sign the document they had created. Two years later the Bill of Rights, which includes Constitutional Amendments 1-10, was passed by congress.
Also available at the adult department desk is the Wisconsin Legislative & Congressional Directory.
