Jeep sideswipes semi, then collides with another vehicle
STAR JOURNAL REPORT
A three-vehicle accident reported shortly after 6 a.m. Monday along Highway 45 in Monico resulted in three people being transported to medical facilities and a portion of the highway being closed in both directions for about two hours, said Oneida County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Tyler Olson.
Olson said a southbound Jeep on Highway 45 near Old 26 sideswiped a northbound semi truck and then when airborne and collided with a northbound Chevy Traverse. He noted one of three injured individuals in the Jeep was flown from the scene with the other two being transported by ambulance.
He said the Monico Fire Department and the Oneida County Highway Department were among the agencies assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene.
Olson said details about the extent of the injuries were not immediately available.
