OBITUARY: Howard C. Zoellick
Howard C. Zoellick, age 83 of Watertown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at Heritage Homes of Watertown.
Howard was born May 26, 1933 in Watertown, the son of William and Viola (Eggert) Zoellick. On June, 23, 1951 he married Helen Trefz. The couple had two children (Rosemary and Robert) and enjoyed 10 years of marriage, until her death Sept. 13, 1961. Howard then married Betty Jean Meschke Sep. 28, 1963 and they had two children (Daniel and Wendy-Sue) together. Howard and Betty enjoyed 33 years of marriage, until Betty’s death June 27, 1996. Howard was a farmer the majority of his working life and worked his land in Johnson Creek, WI. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, throwing bean bags, and being in his garden. Above all else, he appreciated time spent with family and friends. He was a follower of Christ and a long-time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Watertown. Howard was a hard-working family man and a few of his favorite sayings include: “Ya – Ya,” “short-ones,” and “yes dear.” Howard, and his wit, will be missed.
Survivors include his children, Rosemary (Ronald) Degner of Watertown, Robert (Robin) Zoellick of Watertown, Daniel (Kathy) Zoellick of Johnson Creek and Wendy-Sue (Mike) Winter of Rhinelander; grandchildren Ryan (Kim) Degner, Joel (Lori) Degner, Carrie (Bradley) Steffen, Heather Zoellick, Heidi (Brett) Dunham, Eric (Katie) Zoellick, Elizabeth (Andrew) Vogel, Jill (fiancé Joe) Zoellick, Kaleb and Kelsey Winter, Shenelle (fiancé Derek) Bollig, Jonathan (Ali) Radke, Danielle Gross, Jennifer Winter, Jaclyn (Jeremy) Lepak, Jessica (Riley) Kubisiak, Joshua (Jenna) Winter and Jared (Susan) Winter; 16 great- grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Delores), William (Jane), twin brother, Harvey (Alayne) , Herbert (Pat) Richard (Darlene) and Larry (Jodine). He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Victor and sisters, Pearl Heller and Barbara Pahl.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Watertown with the Rev. James Backus presiding. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will take place in the Lutheran Cemetery Watertown.
