No slowing down…. Activities and events galore this fall!
Making Tracks
BY BILL CLOW
RACC Executive Director
As the weather and activities move decisively toward the autumnal, there is still a lot going on around town and at the Chamber. It seems as if there is a fishing tournament and an art fair in the area almost every weekend, including the Hodag Musky Challenge next weekend, Sept. 23-25. We’ve had a lot of people come into the visitor’s center asking about biking and hiking trails, of which there are many in and around Rhinelander. It also seems like we have more people coming up for long weekends or weekday visits, who are interested in visiting our amazing restaurants and retail shops.
Next week we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the incorporation of the Chamber of Commerce. There is more detail below, but I invite everyone to stop by for a cup of coffee and a piece of the delicious cake to be donated by Trig’s, swap some chamber tales and look through some of the old photos and documents we will have on display.
City improvements are continuing as well. The city Streetscape project in the 21 block downtown area is progressing and nearing its seasonal end. More and more streets are getting paved and new sidewalks and curbs. Work continues on the “Chamber of Commerce Trail” which is a walking and biking trail that runs along Kemp from the Marathon station, past the Chamber to the bridge and up Sutliff Avenue.
