Obituary: Dr. Carol J. LeClercq
Dr. Carol J. LeClercq, age 89, of Rhinelander, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born on April 17, 1926 in Sauk City to Edward and Johanna (Frey) Geier. Carol attended the University of Wisconsin where she received her doctoral degree.
Carol was employed as a psychologist at the Milwaukee Mental Health Complex for twenty-eight years. Following her retirement, Carol and her husband Greg moved to Rhinelander, Wisconsin where Carol continued her work as a psychologist at Community Health.
Carol and Greg lived on Green Bass Lake. They loved the peace and tranquility of the lake, the fishing, and the wonderful friends they made there.
Carol was very active in the community and at her church, Nativity of our Lord. She was a proud member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association, Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods, and Let’s Go Fishing. She loved animals, and showed her prize winning Bichon Frises at many dog shows around the state of Wisconsin.
Carol loved to fish, make wine, play bridge and play cribbage. She worked with stained glass and made wood furniture. She was an avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fan.
Her final days, along with her furry companion Oliver, were spent at Grace Lodge. She made many friends, with both residents and staff, while residing there. She will be missed by many.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, a sister, and her beloved husband Greg. She was loved by her surviving family—ten nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.
