Obituary: Lorraine Polinski
Lorraine Polinski, age 81, of Rhinelander, died November 10, 2015, at the Rennes Health and Rehab. She was born in Dunn County to Leonard and Carol (Rugg) Lovejoy. Lorraine grew up in numerous small towns throughout Wisconsin, finally settling in Lakewood. She married Keith Petts and they lived in Alvin until 1980 when he preceded her in death. Lorraine then moved to Rhinelander in 1984 and married Ronald Polinski and he preceded her in death in 1989. Lorraine remained in Rhinelander after Ron’s death and has lived here since. Lorraine held various jobs throughout her life which included breakfast cook at Farm Kitchen in the Dells, head cook and baker at Camp Nicolet, head cook and pie maker at Tula’s and at one time, asst. director of the Amasa Lumber Company. She would tell you her biggest accomplishment although was raising her seven children and two grandchildren. She did all this with the help of her Lord whom she worshipped as a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rhinelander. Lorraine is survived by her four daughters Pamela (Robert) Halada of Pelican Lake, Deseriee (Melvin) Vorisek of Rhinelander, Debra (Danny) Brough of Bradford, IN and Yvonne (Nels) Carlson of Mechanicsville, VA; her son, Jeff Petts of Kenosha; 18 grandchildren and, 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Lovejoy of Iron River, MI and Bruce Rugg of Georgia; other family and many friends. In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by sons, Mark and David Petts; sisters, Jean and Robin and brothers Terry, Noel and James. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 16 at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Rod Ankrom officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until just prior to the services Monday, November 16 at the Church. Interment will be in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery.
