Names released in Saturday’s deadly crash
Three fatalities and several injuries involving motorcycles took place over a three day period last week in Lincoln County.
Approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, Lincoln County authorities responded to the report of a 2-motorcycle crash on County Hwy A in the town of King. Preliminary indications were that an eastbound motorcycle driven by 67- year old Robert J. Dobbs and also carrying his wife, Josephine M. Dobbs, age 68, crossed the center line and struck a motorcycle driven by 59-year old Mark N. Coolidge of Baraboo. The Dobbs’, both of Richland Center were taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk where they were later pronounced dead.
Occupants of the other motorcycle survived. Coolidge is listed in fair condition and his passenger, Roxanne M. Johnson, age 52 of Plover is in good condition, both at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
This accident follows a single motorcycle crash on Hwy 51 Thursday that claimed the life of 75-year old Robert P. Berger of Milwaukee. According to the State Patrol, Berger lost control of his motorcycle on northbound Hwy 51 north of County Rd S in Lincoln County.
A 45-year old woman from Roscoe, Illinois was injured on Friday evening after striking a deer on her motorcycle in the Town of Harrison. Just after 8 p.m. the crash was reported on County Rd D at County Rd B. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from her bike after the crash. She was transported to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
