Obituary: Lillian Amanda Hunter
Lillian Amanda Hunter, age 103 of Rhinelander, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Friendly Village. She was born on February 11, 1912, in Rhinelander to Andor and Emma (Hansen) Larsen.
Lillian graduated from Rhinelander High School and attended Wausau Business College. She married her husband, Donald Hunter and together they raised their family of two sons. Lillian worked as a clerk at the Montgomery Wards store in Rhinelander and was a cook’s assistant for a number of years at the Sugar Camp School. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Lillian witnessed many changes in our world over her 103 years and will be fondly remembered as a wonderful source of history and wisdom for the younger generations who had the opportunity to know her. Lillian is survived by her son, David (Mary) Hunter of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Jodi Hunter of Arlington, Texas; grandson, Lance Hunter of Portland, Oregon; and a nephew, Robert Groth of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on March 5, 1994; a son, Roy Hunter; a sister, Helga Groth; and a brother, Harold Larsen. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Forest Home Cemetery. Carlson Funeral Home is assisting Lillian’s family with arrangements.
