Lincoln Street improvements to be discussed
PUBLIC NOTICE
City of Rhinelander
2015 Street Improvements, Lincoln Street
The City of Rhinelander will conduct a public meeting on July 1, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Rhinelander City Hall (135 South Stevens Street) to provide information on the 2015 street improvements, Lincoln Street project. The public is invited to attend to learn more about this upcoming street construction project and to provide comment for any special circumstances the City can incorporate into our construction plans.
The 2015 Street Improvements, Lincoln Street project will replace the 5-lane section of pavement surface on Lincoln Street, extending from Evergreen Street to Eisenhower Parkway. The project has already gotten underway in June with the City Public Works Department providing associated curb and other concrete surface repairs needed. In mid to late July, a Contractor hired by the City (Northeast Asphalt) is scheduled to then start work on the road to remove and replacing the asphalt surface. Upon replacing the pavement surface, new painted street markings will be completed thereafter.
There will be periodic lane closures and minor traffic diversions used during this construction to keep the road open as project work is completed. Although there may be times of short term inconvenience as required for the work to progress as intended, Lincoln Street through traffic and access to all local side streets and businesses will remain open to traffic. A goal of this project will be to minimize such inconveniences to our visitors and residents; and depending on weather, a September finish to the project is anticipated.
We thank all City residents for their patience and assistance in advance of this project. If you are not able to attend this meeting, please feel free to contact us and we will assist you further with any concerns about the project you may have. Our shared efforts will help the City to accomplish its construction goals for the street improvements needed which ultimately provide a benefit to all residents of the City.
