Writer wants to see pipeline move forward
Editor:
President Obama and his Democrats have again postponed a decision on the XL pipeline. This stops work on the sorely needed pipeline. This is a political game he has been playing for five years now. President Obama is doing this to satisfy his wealthy, pseudo environmentalist donors. He and the Democrat bigwigs care little for poorer donors and private union members because they do not donate large sums to him and his party. The Hollywood crowd, and market manipulators such as George Soros are much more important to them. It is good that some of the private unions are speaking out against the stalling.
In addition to providing 40,000 jobs, the pipeline will reduce the cost to move oil to the market. For us that means lower energy prices. It is also much safer and better for the environment than shipping by rail or truck.
I’m sure if there is a rail accident resulting in injury, death or environmental damage the President and his friends will find a way to blame someone else. The railroads, or the oil drillers, or the oil companies. Of course, energy prices would then rise. All the better for them. They could then sell us more crony energy boondoggles such as Solyndra or Ethanol.
It’s ironic that one of the big reasons that President Obama’s approval ratings aren’t lower than they are, is lower energy prices, because of fracking, and drilling on private land in North Dakota. This is in spite of The President and his Democrat friends. Notice how they oppose fracking and drilling on government land.
