Downtown Rhinelander seeks public involvement on street construction
The city of Rhinelander and Downtown Rhinelander, Inc. (DRI) will hold a public meeting Wednesday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hext Theater, 25 South Brown Street.
The purpose of the meeting will be to inform the public on the status of the downtown street reconstruction project and to solicit input on the design of the new streetscape.
The meeting will consist of a short presentation on the status of the project and a summary of downtown market research findings. The presentation will be followed by a workshop which will consist of three stations. Each station will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about different aspects of the street reconstruction and to provide comments and suggestions about how those different elements may be built. The three stations will be:
• Streetscape Design
• Construction Mitigation (getting around during construction)
• Redevelopment Opportunities.
City staff, consultants and DRI members will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be provided.
Funding for downtown streetscape planning is being provided by the State of Wisconsin Community Development Block Grant program and the city of Rhinelander.
