Viewpoint: Author endorses Bob Mott for county board
Editor:
Bob Mott deserves to be re-elected to represent District 7 citizens. He has spent his first term listening and studying all county issues with a thoroughness that goes beyond the norm. He has gained the experience necessary to continue as a strong citizen’s voice in County Government.
Bob’s willingness to go above and beyond is exemplified by his attendance at various state and area conferences. He attended the two day Hunger and Homelessness Summit in Wausau, an activity that was not required but is a growing issue in the County. His participation in the State Counties Conventions has broadened his understanding of problems and solutions other counties have in common with Oneida Co. He has spent many hours participating in Webinars on transportation, budget, and health issues so that he can make informed decisions about county funding priorities.
Bob’s diligence has not gone unnoticed by other more experienced Board members. Consequently, he has been appointed to some of the most important committees: Health and Aging, UW-Extension- Conservation and Planning and Development Committees. His contributions in these committees have been outstanding.
Bob Mott has taken the time to learn all sides of the critical issue of mining in the northwoods. He is a solid defender of the importance of the health of our lakes, rivers, and forests. He understands the overarching significance of our natural resources for our entire economic well being. At the same time he brings a sympathetic ear to small business concerns and the need to create good employment opportunities. He understands the balance.
The citizens of District 7 and of the entire County stand to benefit from Bob’s re-election. Vote for Bob Mott April 1.
