Three escape, one missing in early morning house fire
On Feb. 3, at approximately 12:42 a.m., the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a structure fire located at 3892 Woodland Trail. The house was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived.
Based on initial investigation, three subjects made it out of the residence and a fourth is presumed missing in the fire. One of the subject’s that made it out of the residence was med-flighted down to a Madison Area Hospital Burn Center for injuries sustained in the fire. Another subject was treated for injuries at a local hospital and released.
The Cassian Fire Department, Hazelhurst Fire Department, Little Rice Fire Department, Nokomis Fire Department, Oneida County EMS and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fire. The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal, town of Cassian Fire Department, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office.
