Obituary: Douglas Melvin Johnson
Douglas Melvin Johnson, 67, of the town of
Woodboro, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his
home. He was born Dec. 11, 1946, in Rhinelander to Melvin and Donna
(Smith) Johnson. Following graduation from Rhinelander High School
in 1965, Doug served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1965
until 1968. Doug is
survived by his devoted wife, Barbara “Barb” Johnson; children, Teresa Cleveland and Christopher “CJ” (Jody Holbrook) Johnson; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; his siblings, Donald
Johnson, Randy (Pam) Johnson, Sue Ann Johnson, Darlene (Al) Ison, Mathew
Johnson, Keith Johnson, and Kyle (Becky) Johnson; as well as many other
family and friends.He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery; and sisters, Jeanne and Jennie. Funeral services for Doug will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Carlson Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve and Annette Price officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at
the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Harshaw.
