First annual Northwoods Women?s Business Conference is March 21
The first annual Northwood’s Women’s Business Conference will be held Friday, March 21, at Nicolet College Northwoods Center.
The conference, which is being organized by Northwoods Women in Business and Nicolet College Workforce and Economic Development, is dedicated to women who share an interest in business. Entrepreneurs, those who work in business, those who have a home-based business as a direct seller and those considering launching a new enterprise are invited to a day of networking, keynote speakers and breakout sessions.
Two keynote speakers will be featured at the event. Kicking off the conference is Chris Clarke-Epstein, a thought leader and speaker in the area of change. Through her consulting business, Change 101, she inspires individuals and organizations to face and embrace change more easily and with powerful outcomes.
At noon, Kathryn Jeffers, a facilitator and consultant in the areas of leadership, personal accountability and personal/professional development will present the second keynote address. She is a long-time faculty member at the University of Wisconsin–School of Business in the award-winning executive education program. Her client list includes small to mid-size businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
Along with opportunities for networking, business and personal development breakout sessions will be offered throughout the day. Session topics will include Pathways to Entrepreneurship; Social Media Basics; Identity Theft Prevention; Identity from the Inside Out: Passion, Power and Purpose; Dealing with Change; Talk Back to Your Negative Self Talk; Website Basics; Communication Skills for Women; Stress Management in a Busy Woman’s World; Business Loan Basics by the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC); and Dressing for Success: Branding Your Personal Image.
Registration to attend the conference is required. The registration deadline for the “early bird” rate of $35 is Feb. 21. Registrations received Feb. 22 or later will cost $45. The conference fee will include a continental breakfast, luncheon, conference favors and presentation materials.
Registrations may be made online through the Nicolet College website, www.nicoletcollege.edu/continuing-education. For information or to request a conference schedule and registration form, contact Michelle Madl-Soehren at 715-365-4492 or via email at [email protected].
Conference organizers are currently seeking vendors who wish to have a presence with an information table. Organizers are also looking for anyone interested in joining the Founders Circle with financial support to help defray the costs of holding the conference. In-kind donations, flowering plants for speaker gifts, conference favors featuring entrepreneurs’ business logos and information, and door prize contributions are welcome. For more information, contact Madl-Soehren at the number or email address listed above.
