Vernon J Joslin, 80, died, Oct. 29, 2013 in Rhinelander. He was born Aug. 8, 1933 in Rhinelander to Ray and Elizabeth (Thilmany) Joslin. Vern served his country as a member of the US Navy in Korea from 1952 until 1956. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander and married Elaine Schoepke Feb. 18, 1956. Elaine preceded Vern in death Dec. 6, 2000 and God then led Vern to meet and then marry Dolores Kurth Sept. 21, 2002. Vern is survived by his wife, Dolores of Rhinelander; his sons, Michael (Tammy) of Rhinelander and Thomas (Diane) of Baldwin; his grandchildren; his great grandchildren; his step sons, Robert and Michael Meyers; nieces; nephews; other family and many friends. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by a sister, Elaine; and a brother, Ray. Funeral services for Vern will be held Friday Nov. 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matthew Schoell and the Rev. Richard Krahn officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at the Carlson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until just prior to the services Friday at the Church.
