Obituary: The Rev. David E Kock
The Rev. David E Kock, 84, of Rhinelander, died Oct. 28, 2013. He was born Aug. 3, 1929 in Hastings, Minn. to Theophil and Veronica (Kerkow) Kock. David was called to serve congregations in South Dakota, Minnesota and then in 1965 to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rhinelander. David served Zion for 29 years retiring in August of 1994. He had married Arlene Bremer July 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2008. He is survived by his three daughters, Bethel (Gary) Dencker of Rhinelander, Betty (Russ) Kube of Winona, Minn. and Ruth (James) Stein of Hortonville; his two sons, Timothy (Mary) Koch of Savage, Minn. and Theo (Gail) Kock of Rhinelander; his 11 grandchildren; his two brothers, Robert (Eunice) Kock of Lake City, Minn. and Paul (Pearl) Kock of Woodbury, Minn.; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Kock of New Ulm, Minn.; his brother-in-law, Martin Lohmann of Zumbrota, Minn.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services for the Rev. David Kock will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Krahn and the Rev. Matthew Schoell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at the Carlson Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a memorial established in David’s name and can be directed to his family. (Carlson Funeral Home)
