Community Health and Wellness Fair in Crandon
Ministry Medical Group in Crandon will host a Community Health and Wellness Fair with free health screenings for community members Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon. The clinic is located at 400 West Glen Street in Crandon.
The Health Fair will feature free clinical screenings and information booths. Health screenings will include blood pressure, glucose, PSA prostate, diabetic foot exams, A1C and lipid panel testing, and skin screenings. PSA prostate screens are for men ages 50+ or 40+ years with a family history of prostate cancer.
Flu and tetanus vaccinations will be provided by the Forest County Health Department. Flu shots are $25 for adults while supplies last. Ministry Medical Group physical and occupational therapy and Ministry Home Care Plus will be present, and information on advanced directives and Ministry Weight Management will be available. The James Beck Cancer Center will provide breast health information, and the Aging and Disability Resource Centers and Buster from the Forest County K-9 unit will be on hand.
Transportation is available within the city of Crandon during the Community Health and Wellness Fair. Individuals interested in transportation are asked to call 715-478-7712 to arrange a ride in advance. The bus will stop at the Fairfield and Acorn complexes at pre-arranged times for health fair attendees.
