Community Garden Donates to Food Pantry
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is currently receiving 100 to 150 pounds of produce three times per week from the Community Garden. Mike Wiernasz, RAFP volunteer, is pictured picking the last of the season’s snap peas. Tom Jerow and Jan Sarkauskas, Garden Co-coordinators said they are currently harvesting tomatoes, beets, carrots, onions, peppers, squash, kohlrabi, leeks, cabbage, broccoli, beans, cucumbers and a variety of herbs. These fresh vegetables are very popular and healthy options for Food Pantry customers.
If you would like to volunteer to help at with the garden, please contact Tom Jerow at 715-369-6875 or stop by the garden on Thayer Street on Monday, Wednesday or Saturdays between 8 and 11 a.m.
