Rhinelander Library announces events for remainder of July
The Rhinelander District Library will continue its summer session in the coming weeks, offering a variety of programs for youth including:
Baby Storytime: The Rhinelander District Library’s summer session of Baby Storytime is in progress. This storytime is conducted on Monday’s at 10:15 a.m. through August. Designed for young ones ages six months to 2 years of age, this 20-minute program consists of simple stories, fingerplays, and music. A social/play time follows each program.
Science with Miss Suzy: Seventh-grade science teacher Suzy Peterson will demonstrate fun and educational science programs at the Rhinelander District Library on Tuesday, July 23 from 11 until 11:45 a.m. and from 2 until 2:45 p.m. Registration is required and can be done by stopping in the Children’s Department or phoning 715-365-1070 ext. 2. This program is for children entering first grade and up.
Dave Dall and Friends at Buck Lake: The Rhinelander District Library will be hosting a musical program Wednesday, July 24 from 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. at Buck Lake featuring Dave Dall and Friends. Enjoy the lake and some great children’s music. Bad weather location will be in the library meeting room.
Preschool Programs: Two programs for preschoolers are scheduled at the Rhinelander District Library Thursday, July 25. A 20-minute Parent/Tot Time program for children age 2 to 3 1/2 who are accompanied by an adult begins at 10 a.m. in the Children’s Department.
A 40-minute Story Time program for children age 3 1/2 to 6 is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the library meeting room. At the completion of the programs, caregivers and children from both groups will gather together to do a simple craft.
Worm Race: Calling all worm racers! The 25th Annual Great Library Worm Race will be crawled on Tuesday, July 30 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. outside the Rhinelander District Library. Worm racing teams need to register with the Northwoods Worm Racing Federation by visiting the Library’s Children’s Department or by calling 715-365-1070, ext. 2. There is a limit of 60 teams. This program is sponsored by the Northwood’s Lion’s Club who will have their food wagon in the parking lot with proceeds going towards children’s programming at the library.
Tail Waggin’ Tutors: The reading therapy dogs who are looking for children to read to them Wednesday, July 31 from 2 until 3 p.m. at the Rhinelander District Library. Sign-up for a 10-minute session by stopping by the Children’s Department or calling 715-265-1070 ext. 2. This is a fun, no pressure way for children to improve their reading skills.
