Rockin? Tomahawk 5K/Half Marathon
The Tomahawk Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Rockin’ Tomahawk 5K/ Half Marathon Saturday, June 8.
The Rockin’ Tomahawk course is a professionally timed event that is fairly flat and suitable for all abilities. Both the 5K and half marathon course starts and ends at SARA Park. Along the course, runners will go through historic downtown Tomahawk as well as along the shores of Lake Mohawksin and across the Wisconsin River. Both courses consist of paved roads and wide, packed trails, making this race unique and picturesque.
“We are excited about our third annual Rockin’ Tomahawk,” said Guy Klopatek, Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce president. “We have a unique run that features some of Tomahawk’s best attributes, such as Bradley Park, the Hiawatha Trail and SARA Park. We will be featuring music along the course to keep you rockin’ the entire time.”
Again this year, free daycare will be offered to race participants. There will also be a free fun run for runners ages 12 and under.
“We are encouraging everyone to take part in this year’s Rockin’ Tomahawk. If you’re not a runner, you can still participate by walking the 5K course,” said Tamra Anderson, Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director, adding that registration will be accepted until the day of the race.
