Upcoming Northern Paddle and Trail events
Northern Paddle and Trail, a Rhinelander outdoor activity group, will host a paddle on the Wisconsin River Tuesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m.
On May 21, NPT will paddle a section of the upper Wisconsin River from Conover to River Road, landing eight miles north of Eagle River. On May 23, the group will continue the paddle beginning at River Road in Vilas County. Both of these are considered easy paddles, but the river could be fast and those attending must be able to maneuver a boat through potential downed trees and other obstacles. The group will host an after-work paddle on the Pelican River near Rhinelander on Wednesday, May 22, at 5:30 p.m. This is an intermediate skill level paddle.
NPT will also host a paddle on the Wisconsin River Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m. from Otter Rapids Dam to the bridge at Cty. O. This is rated an easy paddle but there may be fast-moving water with boulders to dodge.
