Memorial Day ceremonies in Rhinelander
The Oneida County Veterans Council, consisting of members from the American Legion, American Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League and Veterans of Foreign Wars, invites all citizens to join them Monday, May 27, as they pause to remember and honor fallen military heroes who fought to create, preserve and defend the freedom of the United States of America.
The following is a schedule for cemetery ceremonies:
8 a.m. – VFW Color Guard at Newbold Cemetery
8:30 a.m. – American Legion Color Guard at Northland Memorial Park
9 a.m. – VFW Color Guard at Forest Home Cemetery
9 a.m. – American Legion Color Guard at St. Mary’s
10:30 a.m. – American Legion Color Guard at St. Joseph’s Cemetery
10:30 a.m. – River ceremony will be held at the Davenport Street bridge. Guests may view the ceremony from Trig’s parking lot. Upon completion, participants and guests will march/walk to the Oneida County Courthouse where the final Memorial Day ceremony will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Any veteran in the city of Rhinelander who is unable to get to the ceremony on their own but wishes to attend may contact Rapid Cab at (715) 365-7433 for transportation to and from the ceremony free of charge.
