Demmer Library to host container gardening workshop
The Demmer Library in Three Lakes will host a free gardening workshop Wednesday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the library. A vertical lift is available near the side entrance to the library for those who need assistance.
Guest speaker, Oneida County AIS Coordinator Michele Sadauskas will share her gardening expertise on how to grow an abundance of vegetables during a short growing season.
Sadauskas will also instruct those in attendance how to transplant pepper and tomato plants, how to grow the largest and most productive plants, and how to preserve a harvest. Participants will be able to take home a transplanted tomato plant as well.
The library features a variety of gardening books, magazines and DVDs available for check-out. Attendees of the program will be eligible for a door prize drawing at the end of the workshop.
On May 22 at 6:30 p.m., the Demmer Library will host an herb gardening workshop presented by Mary Ann Lambrecht, president of Vilas Master Gardeners. Those who attend will learn how to design an herb garden and find out the basics of what to plant.
No registration is required for either gardening workshop. For more information, call (715) 546-3391 or log on to demmerlibrary.org.
