Plum Creek Timber Company makes donation for trail building equipment
The Rhinelander Area Silent Trails Association (RASTA) received a $2,000 donation from Plum Creek Timber Company Inc. to be used toward the purchase and ongoing expenses of trail building equipment. RASTA recently purchased a Bobcat mini-excavator that will help to enhance the organization’s ability to build and maintain trails for mountain biking, hiking and snowshoeing.
Working with the Oneida County Forestry and Outdoor Recreation departments, RASTA has built and maintains nearly eight miles of mountain biking and hiking trails at the Washburn Lake Silent Sports Trails Area. The organization also continues to develop trails at the Mud Lake Trail System on Crystal Lake Road north of Rhinelander.
RASTA is seeking further contributions to apply toward the purchase of ongoing expenses of the mini-excavator. For more information, contact Alan Condra, communications coordinator, at (715) 482-8102 or visit rastatrails.org.
