It’s official: Downtown Rhinelander Inc. has moved. We are still on Brown Street, but we are now on the main floor. We’re easy to find and more important (if you have ever visited us before, you know how hard those 22 almost-straight-up stairs were), easy to get to. We are now located at 26 North Brown and our official open house will be Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On May 8, DRI, the Rhinelander Chamber and the Department of Tourism will offer a free conference on customer service. With the tourism season approaching, community members, businesses and employees can benefit from this seminar.
On Tuesday, May 14, DRI will clean and prepare the green space by Diel Insurance that is known as The Plaza. We’re seeking volunteers who can spare an hour of time. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., we will be at The Plaza raking, mulching and preparing the space for the summer months.
On May 18, DRI will host “Open House for Available Properties.” This one-day event will showcase the wide variety of available spaces within the downtown district, allowing current and future business owners the opportunity to preview locations in downtown Rhinelander. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon. We encourage business owners and community members to stop by the DRI office to begin the tour.
This also happens to be the same day the Historic Preservation Committee is holding the 2013 Historical Walk of Homes. This event will start at 9 a.m. at City Hall and will last approximately one hour. The cost for the walking tour is $10 per person. Anyone ages 16 and under may attend for free. Tickets are available through the committee, which is located in the Rhinelander Fire Department. For information about the walking tour, call Theresa at (715) 365-8606.
Thursday, May 23, is the date set for Downtown Rhinelander’s 2013 Volunteer Celebration. We are celebrating all the wonderful people who have helped us and invite all community members to join us. We will offer a complimentary lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Those who attend will have an opportunity to tour our new office and talk with committee members. Who knows, you might find out there is something you’d like to do or a way to offer your expertise.
There is so much going on in May. I hope to see you at these upcoming events.
