Artwork sought for WRAP exhibit at Nicolet College
Northwoods artists are invited to submit works of art for the upcoming Wisconsin Regional Art Program exhibit at Nicolet College May 31 to July 6.
“The art must be original and can be in any media,” said Katy Ralph, Nicolet College Art Gallery director. “This is a non-juried exhibit and all pieces will be in contention for State Exhibit awards. Those chosen will be included in the annual State Art Exhibit and Conference held in Madison in September.”
To receive an entry form, email Ralph at [email protected] or call (715) 365-4556, (800) 544-3039, ext. 4556, or TDD (715) 365-4448 and leave name and address. Entry forms are due by Friday, May 17. Artists submitting work must be age 14 or older.
The judge/presenter this year at Nicolet’s WRAP show is oil painter David Kapszukiewicz from Tomahawk. The exhibit will conclude with a workshop led by Kapszukiewicz on Saturday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Nicolet Campus.
WRAP began in 1940 to encourage the creative expression of Wisconsin non-professional artists from rural areas. It is headed by the University of Wisconsin’s Division of Continuing Studies and now includes urban areas and more seasoned artists as well as emerging artists. Each year, regional exhibits are held throughout the state.
The Nicolet College Art Gallery is located in the Learning Resources Center on the Nicolet Campus, one mile south of the city just off Cty. G.
