Henning Hempel, co-owner and grower at Forth Floral, will get people in the mood for the gardening season at the Rhinelander District Library on Monday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m. His presentation will be “Many Parts are Edible: the Fun and Challenge of Growing Vegetables in Northern Wisconsin.”
Vegetable gardening can be a challenge in the Northwoods. Hempel, a longtime vegetable gardener, will help gardeners master this challenge. Audience members will hear many tips for raising vegetables in the northern Wisconsin climate and will learn why “eating local” begins in their own gardens. There will be plenty of time to ask questions, from planting techniques to the best and latest varieties of vegetables.
This program is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Call the Rhinelander District Library at (715) 365-1070 with any questions.
