Marshfield Clinic donates to Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence
Marshfield Clinic recently contributed $500 to the Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
Funds received from area businesses help with critical prevention and support programming, as well as ongoing operational costs of the shelter, said Shellie Holmes, executive director, Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence.
The agency provides advocacy assistance to more than 500 victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault each year. Advocacy includes, among other things, crisis counseling, support and information surrounding court processes, support groups, information and referral to other community resources, emergency transportation, and help with restraining orders.
Tri-County has a “safe home” that provided more than 1,300 nights of shelter to women, children, men, elderly and disabled clients last year. The organization also provides a 24-hour crisis hotline service.
