Get ready for the Hodag Howl
Consider this an invitation to celebrate the land of the Hodag. Once a Hodag, always a Hodag.
The next Downtown Rhinelander Inc. event to mark on the calendar is being held on Saturday, Nov. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. with an auction at 8 p.m. at Trig’s RiverWalk Center.
Downtown Rhinelander Inc. Hodags On Parade Auction has been recreated to become a community party called the “Hodag Howl.” It’s not only an auction for this year’s four Hodags, but an evening of refreshments, raffles, games and dancing. Wear animal prints or Hodag attire and receive five free raffle tickets. Tickets are $15 per person and are available at the Rhinelander Cafè & Pub, Trigs and at the door.
The Four Hodags on Parade are:
Chef-O-Dag – Designed and painted by Connie Friesen with assistance from students of Wabeno High School; sponsored by Rhinelander Cafè & Pub.
Beauty of the North-Northern Lights – Designed and painted by Aurora Stanke with assistance from Austin Kochan and Seth Meyer; sponsored by Trig’s.
All Eyes on the Hodag – Designed and painted by Linda Gilbert-Ferzacca. Support sponsors: Co-Vantage Credit Union, Hodag Honda, BMO Harris Bank, 5 Star Marketing and Custom Collision.
Cooperation Through our Schools – Designed and painted by students from area schools, along with assistance from several adults; sponsored by Downtown Rhinelander Inc.
Additional support for Hodags on Parade was received from City of Rhinelander Public Works, Portable Paint and Blasting and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce.
Downtown Rhinelander Inc. wants to take this opportunity to thank the community for supporting this project, now in its fourth year. DRI hopes everyone has enjoyed the Hodags. Those who haven’t had a chance to see this year’s group have until Nov. 9. DRI looks forward to seeing everyone Nov. 10. Whether individuals plan to bid on a Hodag or not, it is sure to be a howling good time.
