The inaugural Wisconsin wolf season opened Oct. 15. The Department of Natural Resources will update the wolf hunting and trapping page of its website (dnr.wi.gov, search “wolf”) with wolf harvest by zone as wolves are reported. Hunters and trappers have 24 hours to report harvest. Four wolves were reported as harvested during the opening day of the season, one each in Zones 1, 2, 3 and 5. The season runs until the quotas for all zones are met or until Feb. 28, 2013.
