This is a heartfelt plea for volunteer help at our wonderful Oneida County Animal Shelter on Stevens Street. When I retired, I started volunteering at shelters here in the summer and in Arizona in the winter. I have always loved animals and carried a great sadness in my heart for all those who are abused, neglected or homeless. Volunteering to help care for and love the shelter animals adds so much to their lives as well as mine. There is a particular need for volunteers during the winter, since part-timers like myself, as well as our school-age helpers are no longer available. One morning or afternoon a week or whatever time you could give would be so much appreciated by the animals and I promise you that it will add much joy and satisfaction to your life. Please drop by to see the shelter and the animals and see what opportunities are available for you!
