Obituary: Frederick “Bud” Hauser
Frederick “Bud” Hauser, 80, of Rhinelander, passed away on Sept. 2, 2012, at his home, surrouded by his large, loving family. Bud was born on a farm near Langlade to Emil and Mary (Jantz) Hauser.
He was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from the Rhinelander High School in 1949 and remained a lifelong learner, reading widely throughout his life. Bud was deeply devoted to his family and his church which he served in many ways. In 1950 Bud married Joyce Badgley and together they raised nine children. He worked for the Rhinelander Paper Company as a millwright from 1951-1996. He served in the National Guard and served in active duty at Fort Lewis, Wash. in 1961-62.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce; his children, Patrick (Marianne) Hauser, Cheryl (Bob) Lemke, Fred (Wendy) Hauser, Robert Hauser, Jennifer Logan, Jodi Hauser, Laura (Tim Stenson) Budreau and Mary (Kevin) Zastrow; his 16 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren, whom he delighted in and who all knew and loved him deeply; his sister Mary Ann Engle; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services for Bud will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Peter Korthals officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Carlson Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until just prior to the services on Friday at the church.
