Business Close-Up: Business makes dealing with auto repairs easy
When your vehicle breaks down it can be a big hassle, but Travis Gechas, owner of Professional Automotive in Rhinelander, can help. Whether your car or truck is an import or domestic, Travis and his ASC certified automotive technicians are trained in a variety of skills to keep vehicles running smoothly, whatever their make or model.
Travis took over Professional Automotive about a year ago, but he has been an automotive technician for 22 years. Don Van Ells ran and operated Professional Automotive before Travis bought the business, and Don continues his excellent work here, along with Jeff Garrison.
These professionals can do a multitude of tasks and repairs on vehicles. They have state-of the-art electronic diagnostic equipment and can do thorough and accurate “check engine light” diagnosis on the spot. Brakes, suspensions, transmission work, steering problems, drive trains and drivability issues are just a smattering of what can be repaired at Professional Automotive.
Of course, maintaining a vehicle is also important and oil changes and inspections are a specialty. In fact, Travis is offering an innovative program for owners of newer vehicles with 70,000 miles or less. The BG Protection Plan allows for lifetime engine protection when BG products are used during an oil change. Once a customer uses the GB products, which are additives that make cars and trucks run cleaner and more efficiently, their vehicle is automatically protected up to $4,000 on such component as drive trains, brake systems, and steering and cooling systems. For those with between 36,000 and 75,000, the coverage is at 50 percent. Cars must be serviced with GB products before 36,000 to receive 100 percent coverage.
“These products make a big difference on how a car runs,” said Travis. “Some customers can get up to four more miles to a gallon of gas when GB products are used. And this product is also proven to extend the life of engines.” In addition, if a customer has used GB products in the past at another repair shop, the warranty will transfer over. “We keep track of all the paperwork,” said Travis.
To make life a little easier during a vehicle repair, Travis offers free loaner cars. In addition, NAPA parts are used at Professional Automotive, and these come with warranties, giving clients peace of mind wherever they travel. A nighttime key drop box is also a popular convenience, and Travis offers his customers the ability to make an appointment on the company’s website. In fact, appointments are preferred for those looking for repair or service.
Travis also offers a free pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle when a client is looking to buy a used automobile, and this friendly and talented entrepreneur will work hard to consult with his clients about trouble shooting automobile problems.
“We give lots of advice here,” he said. “I run this business with a hand shake mentality. My goal is to provide honest advice, to work closely with my customers and customer satisfaction is always a top priority.”
Professional Automotive is located at 1927 Apache Drive in Rhinelander. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
