Minocqua Center weight loss program reports results
Obesity has become one of the top health concerns in the United States. With more than one third of our population currently obese, and statistics pointing to that number climbing into the 40 percent range in the near future, it has reached life-threatening proportions.
To help people lose weight and gain health, the Marshfield Clinic system offers an effective and proven method. The Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center HMR Program for Weight Management recently reported specific health improvements in real participants.
The following is data from two participants in the HMR Decision Free Medically Supervised Program, who completed a total of 12 Weeks on the diet.
• “Patient 1” 350.1 pounds reduced to 271 pounds; a total cholesterol of 191 reduced to 101; triglycerides of 180 reduced to 130; fasting blood glucose of 139 reduced to 97; and went from 1,929 daily calories burned to 3,312.
• Patient 2 had an initial weight of 277.6 reduced to 234; a total cholesterol of 204 reduced to 136; triglycerides of 189 reduced to 69; fasting blood glucose of 100 reduced to 83; and went from 2400 daily calories burned to 3,180.
“Both patients also had decreases and/or elimination of medications for cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes,” said Renee Trapp, Nutrition Educator, Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center HMR Weight Management Program. “The average cost savings on medications for patients over the course of a month can be anywhere from $30 to $150. The HMR program gives participants the weight-loss results they want, and the medical outcomes they need.”
The Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center HMR Weight Management program will also be offering a special “Blitz” four-week class geared to those who only wish to lose 10 to 20 pounds. The “Blitz” will be offered once per week, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. each Thursday from Sept. 6 to Sept. 27.
