Marshfield Clinic Eagle River, Mercer Center labs recognized for quality
The laboratory services at Marshfield Clinic Eagle River and Mercer centers have met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization.
According to COLA, accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.
“The recent COLA inspections for the Mercer and Eagle River labs resulted in perfect scores, no deficiencies,” said Xhemile Heidenreich, manager, Marshfield Clinic Laboratory Services. “These great results are a repeat perfect performance of the prior two-year inspection, which means the Eagle River and Mercer labs are now in their fourth straight year of perfect scores.”
The centers’ labs have earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long-term commitment to provide quality service to their patients, Heidenreich said.
COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement and accreditation. It’s approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
“I’d like to publicly thank all the staff who provide services at the Mercer and Eagle River Center labs, and consistently contribute to these fantastic results,” Heidenreich said.
