Marshfield Clinic welcomes cardiology physician assistant
Physician Assistant Robert Strelka recently joined Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center’s Cardiology Department, where he’ll be part of a comprehensive heart care team providing care to patients in the Lakeland area.
Strelka has more than 20 years of experience and has worked with general, interventional and electrophysiology patients in cardiology. He’ll work with Drs. Tom Roy and Michael McGill.
Strelka, who earned his Master of Science degree from the physician assistant program at Emory University in Atlanta, will see patients for follow-up care, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring and will consult with hospitalized patients.
“We are very happy to welcome Robert Strelka to our team in the Northwoods,” said Melinda Koch, Cardiology manager, Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center. “He brings with him many years of experience caring for patients.”
Strelka also has a master’s degree in human performance and exercise physiology from UW-La Crosse. Some of his interests in cardiology include treating chest pain, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure and cholesterol management, he said.
The clinic’s high level of care, along with access to the Northwoods’ abundance of outdoor activities, including fishing and hiking, attracted Strelka to the area.
“I was interested in joining the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center Cardiology Department, because of the reputation of the Clinic and its physicians,” Strelka said. “Also, the excellent electronic medical record developed by Marshfield Clinic is a great benefit for providers and patients. Marshfield Clinic is known for great physicians and a large referral system that provides the best possible care for its patients.”
