New doctor joins Ministry Sacred Heart
Ministry Medical Group in Tomahawk recently welcomed Dr. Paul Samundsen to the clinic located inside Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital at 401 West Mohawk Drive in Tomahawk.
Prior to joining MMG, Dr. Samundsen provided care for Aurora Health Care for eight years in Valders.He was a U.S. Army Major and worked as a family practice physician for the Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Ga. for four years previously. His interests include internal medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, injuries, GYN, orthopedics, prenatal care and sports medicine.
The Wisconsin native received his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University. Dr. Samundsen is board certified and is a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians, the North Dakota Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Samundsen values personalized care for patients. “I believe in the concept of family medicine as a specialty and understanding issues that affect the whole family,” he said. “I think it’s important that people play a vital role in their own health care and that they understand why they are being recommended to do something.”
