Obituary: John L. Brown
John L. Brown, 64, of Rhinelander, passed away on June 13, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was born on March 24, 1948, in Fond da Lac, to Ralph Wilson Brown and Dorothy Leona Schultz Brown. The family moved to Rhinelander where he attended schools and graduated from Rhinelander High School. He continued his education at Nicolet College, where he earned an Associate Degree. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On Sept. 23, 1973, he married Mary Lou Oleinik in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He was owner of Bayfield Spice and was a Life Representative for Equitable Reserve Association. He served as the Vice President of Chapter 34 of Equitable Reserve Association. John was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed photography, Lapidary (collecting and forming rocks into jewelry), traveling, and playing poker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Brown of Rhinelander; two sons, Scott Christopher (Laura Davidson) Brown of Wilsonville, Ore. and Robert John (Chrystle) Brown, Maricopa, Ariz.; his mother, Dorothy Brown of Rhinelander; a brother, Scott (Victoria) Brown of Eau Claire; and two grandsons. He was preceded by his father, Ralph Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rhinelander.
