Business Close-Up: Bill Bailey?s Auto is for buyers on a budget
When bad things happen to good people, Bill Bailey’s Budget Auto Sales in Minocqua can help. Walter Castilllo is the sales representative here, and he works hard to get people in a vehicle so they can get back on their feet and improve their life situation.
This lot is next door to Sedlak Chevrolet on Hwy. 51 and is owned by Don Sedlak. Many of the vehicles located at Bill Bailey’s are trade-ins from Sedlak, and have been locally driven and cared for.
“All the cars on this lot have been inspected by ASC certified technicians before they come here” said Walter. “Our primary concern is that they are road ready and safe to drive.”
At any given time there are between eight to 12 vehicles on this lot. Trucks, SUVs and cars of every make and model are offered. The inventory changes frequently, and customers are encouraged to check back often if they are in the market for a pre-used vehicle. In fact, Walter will even scout his many contacts when a specific vehicle is requested.
“I’m more than happy to look around when someone wants something like a wood hauler or a certain car model to purchase,” he said.
Walter also listens to his customers, taking note of their situations and how to provide an affordable payment plan so they can eventually build their credit score. Clients who may have been through some rough times with the current economy or those who are just starting out, may not have a good credit history and yet need a vehicle to keep a job or even find one. While purchases set up through Bill Bailey’s are not reported to the credit bureau, (this is considered a buy here-pay here enterprise), a good payment history with this dealership can reflect a customer’s ability to pay off a loan, which can eventually lead to a better credit score in the end. Walter provides his customers with a record of their payments, and they can take this to a bank or other financial institution in the future for proof that they can be reliable loan recipients.
The loans provided at Bill Bailey are not, as a rule, long term, usually in the 1 to 11/2 year range, and customers must provide a small down payment whether that’s monetary or a trade-in. This helps keep loan payments reasonable and affordable for customers.
Granted many of the vehicles on this lot may show a little wear and tear, but all issues with any vehicle are fully disclosed to customers so they have peace of mind that what they purchased will provide them with a way to move on from hard times and build a better life for themselves and their families as well.
“I encourage everyone looking for a used vehicle to come in and talk,” said Walter. “There are many options available, and I’m here to explore those options and help customers find the vehicle that will best suit their needs.”
