As the Survivorship Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, I am inviting all cancer survivors to participate in this wonderful event. You became a survivor the day you were diagnosed, and we are proud to have the opportunity to celebrate your life. We also gather to honor those who have not survived. Each year the number of cancer survivors continues to grow, and we want all of you to share in this event.
Our celebration begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 15, at the Rhinelander High School track. Registration starts at 4 p.m., or you can contact Sue at (715) 282-6143 to pre-register. We start with an opening ceremony, followed by a survivor’s victory lap. If you are unable to walk the distance, we will provide you with a ride around the track.
Following the lap, we will gather in the infield for our “Circle of Hope” to join together in love, friendship and support for each other. Light refreshments will be served in the survivor’s tent afterwards. All registered participants will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
Please invite your family and friends to attend as well; Relay for Life is a family event open to everyone in the community. Hope to see you there! (In case of inclement weather we will move into the James Williams Middle School).
