Adjusting to a Healthier Lifestyle Week 8
Every week ‘Fit for Life’ participants have a different challenge that may require a wide range of skills. This weeks ‘Fit for Life’ challenge included speed, agility, and drive to complete the challenge. Participants were challenged to see how many times they can get around the far cones. This was found to be a challenge that some participants were not willing to take and opted out. Those who did complete it found it different and challenging especially compared to the other challenges.
As a group, participants have lost a total of 172 lbs. This is actually a decrease in weight loss from last week. As a group they have gained 1.4 lbs. This is discouraging to many of the participants, but this gain can sometimes mean they are gaining muscle and losing fat. As a result of gaining the muscle and losing the fat ones metabolism can increase. Some of the participants are concerned with losing muscle when they lose weight. This can be a big concern for people, and with adjusting diet and exercise they can see results they prefer. Changing to a healthy lifestyle is a difficult thing to do, but once it has become second nature, many people find it difficult to think of their life any other way.
Heading into week 9 of ‘Fit for Life’, participants will have a group challenge to complete, and will be pushed hard in bootcamps to help them see the results they want.
