“I have seen in the news lately that some area school districts are making teachers take drug tests. I am wondering if the School District of Rhinelander will require this too, and if not, why?”
– Brandon, Rhinelander
The Star Journal asked Roger Erdahl, Superintentdent of the School District of Rhinelander. Erdahl responded:
“I’ve checked our policy and with our human resources department. We agreed that we have a policy in place that allows drug testing in the event we have cause to be concerned.
“Additionally, we continue to closely monitor the districts in our part of the state, and are in regular conversation with those who lead them. Accordingly, we will be advising our School Board on any policy changes that are taking place in this area.”
