Dr. John Frost retires from Ministry Medical Group
Dr. Robert Sookochoff, Regional Vice President-Ministry Medical Group, recently announced that Dr. John F. Frost has retired from Ministry Health Care after practicing medicine for 35 years in Rhinelander.
Over the years Dr. Frost built a loyal client base in the Northwoods. He says practicing in Rhinelander for over three decades allowed him to know and understand his patients and their needs.
“Working in a small town with a great group of physicians and staff was a real blessing to me,” he said. “People are more appreciative of the services we provide and you get to know your patients and value your relationship with them.”
Dr. Frost was born in Ashland. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, and completed his residency at Hennepin County General Hospital in Minneapolis. Before coming to Rhinelander, he served in the U.S. Navy as a staff physician at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif., for two years.
“I’d like to thank Dr. Frost for his dedication and service to Rhinelander and the surrounding communities,” said Dr. Sookochoff. “He was a valued member of the Ministry Medical Group family and we wish him well in retirement.”
Dr. Frost plans to stay active in retirement. He’s traveling to Ukraine in April on a medical mission trip. “I’ve gone about 15 times, starting in 1995,” said Dr. Frost. “I’ll be assisting with internal medicine services and consulting in the hospitals.”
He’s already enjoying spending time with his wife Sandra, three sons and their families.
